Job Role: Business Development Manager - VP
Location: London, England
Experience: 10+ years
About this role
  • This role is focused on business development across UK-headquartered marquee and enterprise clients, many of which operate with a significant global footprint.
  • Our client is transforming how private markets data and technology power investment decisions globally.
  • Our client plays a critical role in expanding private markets capabilities, complementing the investment technology platform and helping clients view, analyze, and act across their entire portfolio. Our client is ambitious, collaborative, and deeply client focused — and our client is just getting started!
  • Our client’s mission is to create a better financial future for our clients. Our client is a diverse bunch of people who like to analyse, reinvent, and enhance how our client works, and all in the pursuit of a better experience for our client’s colleagues and clients. There are limitless problems to solve and opportunities for development, alongside a team of clever and caring colleagues. Our client’s culture is based on respect, inclusion, diversity but also challenge and stretch and value feedback. Our client believes that people reach their best potential when the different facets of their home, work and community are all cared about. Our client can promise you a fun, fast paced work environment, offer competitive and innovative benefits, and the ability to define your role in pursuit of your aspirations.
Your Role:
  • As a Vice President within our client’s Business Development team, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating our client’s growth across UK clients within our client’s marquee and enterprise customer segment. While these firms are headquartered in the UK, many have significant international operations, and the role requires the ability to build and execute strategies that reflect the global nature of these relationships.
  • Our client is looking for a commercially driven, relationship oriented professional with demonstrable experience working with strategic, Tier 1 accounts. You will bring a proven ability to navigate complex client organisations, engage senior stakeholders, and execute enterprise sales strategies that create long term value for clients and meaningful growth for our client.
  • In this role, our client trusts you to make an immediate impact — generating new subscription revenue, building a strong and sustainable pipeline, and expanding existing client relationships in close partnership with our client’s Client Engagement colleagues.
  • You will be at the forefront of our client’s go to market efforts across UK-headquartered marquee and enterprise clients, driving demand through targeted outreach, strategic lead generation, executive engagement, and relevant client and market events. This is a highly visible role with real ownership, autonomy, and the opportunity to shape how our client grows within one of our client’s most important client segments.
What you’ll be doing:
  • Our client will rely on you to own the full sales lifecycle, from first conversation to close — engaging senior decision makers, understanding client priorities, and delivering thoughtful, value driven solutions. You’ll actively develop new business opportunities while also uncovering strategic expansion opportunities within our existing client base.
  • A core part of the role will be building and executing enterprise account strategies for UK-headquartered, globally active firms. You will identify priority stakeholders, map decision making structures, develop account plans, and coordinate activity across our client’s teams to support progress within large, complex organisations.
  • You’ll bring our client’s products and capabilities to life, confidently articulating how our client helps clients solve complex challenges in private markets. This includes delivering compelling proposals, running impactful product demonstrations, and acting as a trusted partner throughout the buying journey — whether meeting clients in person or connecting virtually.
  • You will be expected to manage sophisticated sales cycles, negotiate thoughtfully, and progress opportunities with discipline and pace. Success in this role will require comfort operating across senior buying groups, procurement processes, legal and commercial discussions, and multi-threaded stakeholder engagement.
  • Above all, you’ll be a collaborative force: working cross functionally, sharing market and client insights, and contributing to a team culture that celebrates success and learns from every experience.
What we are looking for:
  • Our client is excited to meet candidates who bring energy, curiosity, and a growth mindset, combined with meaningful experience in business development or account management within financial services, alternative investments, data, analytics, or B2B SaaS environments.
  • You will have a proven track record of delivering results with strategic, or Tier 1 client relationships — including experience developing account strategies, engaging senior stakeholders, and navigating complex sales cycles with multiple decision makers and influencers.
  • You understand how to create long term value for clients, identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and translate client priorities into commercially compelling solutions. Experience working with globally active clients, or accounts with international stakeholder groups, would be highly relevant.
  • You’re commercially savvy, analytically strong, and naturally detail oriented. You enjoy solving problems, take ownership of outcomes, and bring a disciplined yet flexible approach to managing priorities. Just as importantly, you care about being a great teammate — building trust quickly, collaborating openly, and contributing positively to team momentum.
  • Fluency in English is required. Strong proficiency with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort with technology more broadly will help you thrive in this role.

To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, our client offers a wide range of employee benefits including:

  • retirement investment and tools designed to help you in building a sound financial future
  • access to education reimbursement
  • comprehensive resources to support your physical health and emotional well-being
  • family support programs
  • and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.
  • Our client’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
  • Our client remains focused on increasing the impactful moments that arise when employees work together in person – aligned with our client’s commitment to performance and innovation. As a new joiner, you can count on this hybrid model to accelerate your learning and onboarding experience here.
Guidance on AI use for candidates
  • Our client has long used AI as part of how our client works – enhancing decision-making, improving operations, and helping our client deliver better outcomes for clients. Our client encourages candidates to use AI thoughtfully to learn, prepare, and work more effectively; but during our client’s interview process, our client wants to focus on getting to know you through your own experiences, thinking, and judgment.
  • To support you, our client has provided guidance on when and how to use AI during our client’s hiring process so you can approach each step with confidence and showcase your best self.
About our client
  • Our client is connected by one mission: to help more and more people experience financial well-being. Our client’s clients, and the people they serve, are saving for retirement, paying for their children’s educations, buying homes and starting businesses. Their investments also help to strengthen the global economy: support businesses small and large; finance infrastructure projects that connect and power cities; and facilitate innovations that drive progress.
  • This mission would not be possible without our client’s smartest investment – the one our client makes in employees. It’s why our client is dedicated to creating an environment where colleagues feel welcomed, valued and supported with networks, benefits and development opportunities to help them thrive.
  • Our client is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. Our client evaluates qualified applicants without regard to age, disability, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation and other protected characteristics at law.
