The Company:
An exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager (EU Markets Homewares) to develop and oversee the company's strategy for Omni-channel growth at key EU retailers such as Carrefour, ALDI, LIDL, Auchan, E. Leclerc, etc.
This role involves strategy development, maintaining and establishing long-term partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, setting and reporting sales targets and goals, and fostering a sales culture focused on strategic account management to drive revenue growth, increase sales within existing and new accounts, capture market share, and enhance customer satisfaction.
The Role:
- Identifying new sales leads
- Researching organizations and individuals online (especially on social media) to identify new leads and potential markets
- Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings
- Driving sales and market share growth effectively
- Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
- Monitoring, evaluating, reporting, and responding to market and competitor activity
- Preparing and updating market comparisons across bath, bed, area rugs, and relevant product categories
- Liaising internally within the office and factory to follow up on orders and new development inquiries
- Preparing PowerPoint presentations and sales displays for meetings and exhibitions/trade shows as required
- Arranging samples to be sent to factories or customers
- Developing quotes and proposals
- Reviewing product lines, submitting quotes, and responding to all customer requests, inquiries, and feedback promptly
- Strategically developing account product placement and promotional programs
- Handling current business day-to-day queries
- Identifying new opportunities within current customers
- Collaborating on seasonal product offerings with design and merchant teams
Skills Required:
- Proven sales success in the textiles/home textile industry
- Experience working with national retailer accounts such as Carrefour, Auchan, E. Leclerc, Intermarché, etc.
- Multilingual abilities – French and Spanish/Italian/German
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and persuasion skills
- Prompt and accurate reporting to managers and stakeholders
- Ability to develop and manage budgets and programs
- Ability to foster collaboration among team members, providing motivation and direction
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills with proven decision-making ability
- Knowledge of market characteristics, competitive environment, and growth opportunities
