Duties

As the Technology Business Development Manager, you'll be instrumental in driving strategic growth and enhancing cohesion across the business. Your role will involve:

  1. Working with the Technology Sector Leaders to develop and set the sector strategy and go-to-market programme.
  2. Developing the sector's proposition and market profile activity, working closely with the firm's marketing specialists.
  3. Working with sector leaders and the aligned partner group to identify, qualify, and convert leads into opportunities and revenue.
  4. Managing, leading, and contributing to bids and tenders for the Technology sector across the firm, working with the bids team, and providing sector insights on tender responses.
  5. Developing and managing thought leadership campaigns to drive the sector's profile and growth.
  6. Owning and managing the business development budget, planning activities within the set budgets.
  7. Collaborating with practice and tech specialists to build products and sales materials supporting the strategy.
  8. Maintaining and managing technology credentials, case studies, and bid content on our central system, Foundation.
  9. Working with sector leaders, client teams, and CRPs on priority programme clients.
  10. Identifying and planning for sector growth targets.
  11. Collaborating with international BD teams to drive the sector's global growth and client acquisition.
  12. Providing insights and recommendations on strategic growth topics.
  13. Developing key messaging for the Technology sector across marketing channels, with support from marketing and communications teams.
  14. Building a strong understanding of the sector and fostering a network within the firm and relevant sectors.
  15. Driving synergies across group and sector teams to maximize opportunities and growth.

Your Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  1. Proven success in business development within an international law firm or professional services, especially in the technology sector, including leading bids and pitches.
  2. Adaptability and credibility in collaborating across functions and with stakeholders.
  3. Exceptional project management skills, especially in managing bids and tenders from start to finish.
  4. Leadership qualities, including team leadership and collaboration with specialist teams like Communications and Marketing.
  5. Strong communication skills for engaging with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  6. Understanding of the technology legal environment is preferred, with a mindset of continuous learning and industry awareness.
