Duties
As the Technology Business Development Manager, you'll be instrumental in driving strategic growth and enhancing cohesion across the business. Your role will involve:
- Working with the Technology Sector Leaders to develop and set the sector strategy and go-to-market programme.
- Developing the sector's proposition and market profile activity, working closely with the firm's marketing specialists.
- Working with sector leaders and the aligned partner group to identify, qualify, and convert leads into opportunities and revenue.
- Managing, leading, and contributing to bids and tenders for the Technology sector across the firm, working with the bids team, and providing sector insights on tender responses.
- Developing and managing thought leadership campaigns to drive the sector's profile and growth.
- Owning and managing the business development budget, planning activities within the set budgets.
- Collaborating with practice and tech specialists to build products and sales materials supporting the strategy.
- Maintaining and managing technology credentials, case studies, and bid content on our central system, Foundation.
- Working with sector leaders, client teams, and CRPs on priority programme clients.
- Identifying and planning for sector growth targets.
- Collaborating with international BD teams to drive the sector's global growth and client acquisition.
- Providing insights and recommendations on strategic growth topics.
- Developing key messaging for the Technology sector across marketing channels, with support from marketing and communications teams.
- Building a strong understanding of the sector and fostering a network within the firm and relevant sectors.
- Driving synergies across group and sector teams to maximize opportunities and growth.
Your Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Proven success in business development within an international law firm or professional services, especially in the technology sector, including leading bids and pitches.
- Adaptability and credibility in collaborating across functions and with stakeholders.
- Exceptional project management skills, especially in managing bids and tenders from start to finish.
- Leadership qualities, including team leadership and collaboration with specialist teams like Communications and Marketing.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of the technology legal environment is preferred, with a mindset of continuous learning and industry awareness.
