Job Description

Business Development Manager, Technical Area Sales Manager - Industrial Tapes to OEMs

A very important and visible role in the company and the group, developing industrial, aerospace, aviation, avionics, and defence tier one and OEM markets for their tapes business in the Midlands. The role involves developing existing turnover, following up on incoming leads, enquiries, and quotation requests.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Working closely with the Sales Director, focusing on new business, account development, and winning new projects from existing customers.
  2. Selling "technical solutions" and "problem solving" for clients, not just commodities.
  3. Getting specified on projects with general industrial, aerospace, and defence manufacturers and tier one suppliers.
  4. Developing business by engaging with technical decision makers and building client relationships using a project pipeline approach.
  5. Collaborating with the Marketing Manager to generate content, interest, and leads, including support for exhibitions.
Person Specification
  • Proven success in selling technical industrial tapes, ideally with experience in aerospace and defence tier one and OEM markets at a senior level.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical industrial tapes and their applications.
  • Tenacity to engage decision makers, with strong communication, influencing skills, and ability to build relationships over long project lead times.
