Business Developer / Sales Development Representative

Job Description:

Business Development Manager, Technical Area Sales Manager - Industrial Tapes to OEMs

This is a very important and visible role in the company, developing industrial, aerospace, aviation, avionics, and defence tier-one and OEM markets for their tapes business in the Midlands. The role focuses on new business development, with existing turnover to develop and incoming leads to follow up.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Sales Director, focusing on new business, existing account development, and securing new projects from current customers.
  • Sell technical solutions and problem-solving services rather than commodities.
  • Get specified on projects supplying general industrial, aerospace, and defence manufacturers, and tier-one suppliers with a wide range of technical industrial tapes.
  • Develop relationships by engaging with technical decision-makers, asking technical questions, and using a project pipeline approach.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to generate content, interest, and leads, including support for exhibitions.
Person Specification:

To be considered, candidates should have:

  • A proven track record of success selling technical industrial tapes, ideally with experience in aerospace and defence tier-one and OEM markets at a senior level with technical decision-makers.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical industrial tapes and their applications.
  • Tenacity to engage with decision-makers and grow the market, along with strong communication, influencing skills, and the ability to build relationships for long project lead times.
