The role of Business Development Manager (political intelligence)

You will be selling access (via subscription) to the country's leading political intelligence platform which offersfast, accurate and relevantpolitical monitoring, campaigning tools, and research servicesfor public affairs professionals.

In 2020, they boasted a90% client retention rate and 25% growth of new clients. It is therefore a very well established, and highly regarded intelligence tool, which you can be confident talking to new businesses about.

The role is 100% new business focused and leads will come from a variety of places including incoming marketing leads, an existing target list and personal lead development activity. You will primarily be selling to public affairs departments.You will begin by working from home but in time will be in the office around 2 times a week (post-pandemic).

They are looking for 2 BDM's - one to focus on new business from the healthcare sector, and a second to focus on winning new business from the energy & environment sector.

Requirements for this Business Development Manager position (political intelligence)

  • A passion and interest in politics (must have)
  • 4+ years subscriptions sales experience (must have)
  • A passion for, and strong legacy of business development (must have)
  • Stable career history
  • Process driven approach to sales
  • A proven track-record of exceeding target
  • Polished, articulate and confident
  • The ability to talk with authority about political issues
