Baltic Recruitment is supporting a leading distributor of plastic piping, valves, and fittings in their search for an experienced Business Development Manager covering the southern region.

Overall Purpose: The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and driving growth and profitability. The BDM works closely with sales, marketing, and product development teams to align strategies and deliver solutions that meet market needs. The Business Development Team aims to grow the business and extend the reach of products and services to increase revenue within a specific geographic area, contributing to the company's sales targets. The role involves handling customer and prospect inquiries, demonstrating technical knowledge, and presenting product functionalities in detail.

Key Duties:

  1. Manage sales activity within a geographic area to achieve growth aligned with company objectives.
  2. Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
  3. Develop and implement strategic business development plans, setting short and long-term goals in line with company objectives.
  4. Identify and pursue new business leads and prospects, developing a pipeline through networking, referrals, and cold calling. Work with consultants to identify specification opportunities and grow the business.
  5. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships, understanding their needs and proposing suitable solutions.
  6. Present business proposals, negotiate terms, and close deals to meet sales targets.
  7. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure alignment and deliver tailored solutions.
  8. Utilize IT systems for sales tracking, prepare reports on activities and results, and monitor KPIs.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in technical sales, preferably in plastic piping, valves, fittings, etc., with the ability to sell ideas, products, and services.
  • Proven success in a sales or business development role, with a consultative selling approach and ability to develop long-term relationships.
  • Track record of achieving targets.
  • Experience with CRM and IT systems.
