Position: Business Development Manager (Renewable Energy)

Location: Oxford (Hybrid working - 2 days a week in the office)

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Hours: 36 hours a week

Do you have a background in business development and want to transition into a role in the rapidly growing renewable energy industry? This is an exciting opportunity to join a renewable energy social enterprise on a mission to create a zero-carbon energy system. They are looking for a Business Development Manager to help develop and manage community energy projects, specifically rooftop solar initiatives. You'll work alongside our Operations Renewables Portfolio Director to lead the way in delivering renewable energy projects that make a positive impact on both people and the planet.

As part of the team, you'll help build relationships with key stakeholders, including commercial businesses, to develop and deliver projects aimed at reducing energy costs and carbon footprints through solar energy.

The Role:

  1. Full training provided.
  2. Lead and manage the delivery of solar PV projects, focusing on rooftop solar systems for community and business partners.
  3. Develop a strong pipeline of community energy projects, ensuring annual sales targets of £1.5 million are met.
  4. Negotiate contracts and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for each project, collaborating with partners and stakeholders to drive success.
  5. Work closely with the Operations team to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  6. Ensure projects have an average internal rate of return (IRR) of >7.5%.
  7. Play a pivotal role in the growth of the company and its renewable energy mission.

The Person:

  1. Proven experience in business development.
  2. Commercial sales/BD background.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to network and develop collaborative relationships.
