Job description

In this role, you will be a part of our Business Development & Marketing Directorate, supporting Partners in the RE Group. You'll have line management responsibility for a RE Senior Business Development Executive (SBDE). Reporting directly to the Head of Group Business Development, you'll work with them to deliver best practices and strategies across practice teams, promoting a consultative, client-cantered approach to business development and marketing.

This is a broad, impactful role where you'll lead the development, management, and proactive execution of RE business development plans for practice teams. You'll support the RE Group Executive team in growth initiatives, focusing on creating targeted strategies to expand work opportunities across our client base and key sectors.

Working closely with our sector, key client, and international teams, you'll help identify and capitalise on new client opportunities. Building strong, collaborative relationships with BD, Marketing, and senior stakeholders across the Firm will be essential. Your energy and enthusiasm for bringing new ideas to enhance client engagement will be key to your success in this role!

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Leadership & Growth: Develop and deliver the AG RE Group 2030 strategy with the RE Leadership Team, focusing on profitable growth and identifying new client opportunities.
  • Client Development & Engagement: Collaborate with partners across all offices on proactive client development, including preparing presentations, pitches, and capability statements.
  • Business Development & Campaign Execution: Lead bespoke bids and BD initiatives, manage the RE BD budget, and work with Marketing to run strategic growth campaigns with measurable ROI.
  • Team Management & Collaboration: Directly manage and support the Senior BD Executive, while working closely with BD & Marketing colleagues and acting as the RE Group’s BD subject matter expert.
  • Messaging & Market Presence: Develop consistent messaging, maintain updated marketing materials, and identify thought-leadership and profile-raising opportunities for RE practices.


Who We're Looking For:

  • Proven track record of business development in an international law firm or professional services organisation
  • Experience of RE business development and the RE market dynamics is preferable but a willingness to learn and be curious is essential
  • Flexible and adaptable, to work with ease cross-functionally, you will possess a strong ability to build credibility and trust with partners
  • Have excellent project management skills to manage multiple responsibilities amid competing priorities, tight deadlines and changing business demands and opportunities.
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills, rigorous attention to detail and you possess a strong ability to build credibility and trust with partners
  • Proven ability to lead a team and delegate to the most relevant individuals, also have experience of working with specialist teams eg. Communications and Marketing
