Job description

We are looking to recruit an eCommerce Business Development Manager for our innovative rapid grocery delivery platform, Scoot. Reporting directly to the Head of Home Delivery, based out of our Bristol office, as a field based role covering the South West, such as Wales, Devon & Cornwall.

You will collaborate with a dynamic team of BDMs to drive the success of our Rapid Grocery Delivery Plan. Your role will be pivotal in supporting and growing our symbol partners across Premier, Londis, Budgens, and Family Shopper, helping them transition to and thrive within the rapid grocery delivery market.

  • Strategic Recruitment:Identify, recruit, and onboard leading symbol stores that meet our criteria.
  • Performance Management:Achieve set KPIs and develop strategies to boost sales, order volume, and profitability through increased basket spend and product mix on the Scoot app.
  • Relationship Building:Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing symbol stores, providing ongoing support and resolving challenges to drive retailer buy-in and sales growth.
  • Data Analysis:Monitor and analyse partner performance metrics, including order volume, sales, and delivery times, to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving:Work closely with retailers and internal teams to feedback and resolve challenges, enhancing the Scoot proposition.
  • Best Practice Sharing:Collaborate with BDM colleagues and cross-functional teams to share best practices and improve the Scoot brand.
  • Sector Expertise:Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the rapid grocery sector and the Booker Rapid Grocery Delivery solution, including setup and administration.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to enhance retailer growth on Scoot.
  • Grocery Retail Market Expertise:Deep knowledge of the grocery retail market with a proven track record of crafting and executing successful sales and marketing strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:Strong expertise in stakeholder engagement, particularly within B2B environments.
  • KPI Management:Confidence in managing KPIs and business metrics, including navigating complex discussions when necessary.
  • Communication Skills:Clear, compelling communication skills—able to convey messages with precision and impact across varied audiences.
  • Relationship Building:Ability to quickly build trust and rapport with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proactive Approach:A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the independence to drive results and the collaboration skills to thrive in a team setting.
  • Sector Familiarity: Familiarity with the rapid grocery delivery landscape.
