Job Description:

Our audit practice is entering a new phase focused on growth. This new role has been created to help our mid-market (Private Capital) audit team transform our approach to winning new business.

You will be part of a supportive and growing Go to Market team, as well as the national Markets and Clients community. This is an exciting opportunity to help our partners and directors achieve their growth targets by ensuring momentum in business and client development activities.

You will:

  1. Transform our approach to winning new business, focusing on a proactive and structured approach aligned with the Firm's Sales and Marketing Cycle.
  2. Evolve our Business Development approach by bringing fresh perspectives and insights from your experience.
  3. Support and capitalize on private equity relationships and intermediary relations, establishing a key account management framework for PE houses.
  4. Fully adopt and champion the new CRM system (Dynamics) across the Private Capital Audit practice.
  5. Oversee reporting and monitoring of KPIs related to the sales pipeline.
  6. Assist audit leaders, the Head of G2M, and PC partners in identifying and pursuing new markets and targets, supporting BD efforts.
  7. Hold PC partners accountable for their actions and target development, flagging issues or lack of progress.
  8. Collaborate with the marketing team to inform and leverage go-to-market plans.
  9. Develop propositions for the PC market through collaboration with assurance, tax, and advisory practices, providing relevant insights.
  10. Oversee a XLOS approach to PC targets, working with BD in Entrepreneurial Services, Regions, Industries, and other Service Lines to gain synergies.
  11. Support building a sales culture within the Private Capital practice through communication and coordination.
  12. Identify and deliver BD/sales/account management training needs alongside the G2M and Learning & Innovation teams.

Knowing you're right for us

Minimum criteria for the Business Development Manager role include:

  • Experience in professional services
  • Background in marketing, BD, account management, or sales operations
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders
  • Interest or knowledge of Audit (beneficial but not critical)

The role is flexible on location but has a national remit, so travel may be required.

Preferred skills include:

  • Understanding of lead generation, sales, and client management
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Proactivity and ability to work independently with ambiguity
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, Dynamics)
  • Project management skills
  • Resilience, tenacity, and a proactive attitude
