Job Description:

Overview of the role

Phoenix enables digital transformation in the workplace, empowering UK organisations to innovate and transform with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, data, AI, security, and collaboration tools.

We are now very excited to grow that team further by hiring a Business Development Manager to take ownership of spearheading our Verkada physical security business.

What will you be doing?

  • Support all of Phoenix's’ sales teams in developing strategic customer relationships, positioning Verkada effectively, and enabling confidence in customer conversations.
  • Act as the go-to Verkada expert for internal training, onboarding, and enablement across all levels, including new starters and leadership teams.
  • Own and achieve a defined gross profit (GP) target, monitoring P&L performance and driving pipeline activity through reporting and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create and execute tailored campaigns that support Verkada growth and customer engagement.
  • Manage the relationship with Verkada, including partner status, accreditations, joint planning, resource alignment, and regular business reviews.
  • Drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing customer base while ensuring SLAs and service expectations are consistently met.
  • Oversee internal processes such as vendor days, documentation management, and cross-team communication to embed Verkada in our go-to-market approach.

Why you should apply?

At Phoenix, our philosophy is simple – we aim to be the UK’s leading IT solution and managed service provider and that means we recognise that it’s our people who are the heart of everything we do.

We do this by providing the encouragement, support and skill development that you need to be the very best you can be at work. We are proud of our culture, so much so that we have developed our Culture Blueprint which you can read here.

What are we looking for?

The right person for this role will already have proven experience in a similar B2B sales role, preferably within another reseller or vendor but any kind of IT/technology sales will be beneficial.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in IT or technology B2B sales, with a strong understanding of the sales cycle and customer engagement.
  • Ability to learn and position new products quickly, with a consultative and solutions-led sales approach.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective customer and vendor relationships.
  • Comfortable delivering training, product knowledge sessions, or team enablement activities.
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to support pipeline development and contribute to revenue targets.
  • Analytical mindset, able to interpret performance data (e.g. sales reports, P&L insights) to inform actions.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player, able to work cross-functionally and support wider business objectives.
  • Willingness to become a subject matter expert and act as a key point of contact for a high-growth vendor.

*Important* BPSS Check

As part of our recruitment process due to the nature of the work we do, all employees are required to undertake a Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) check. While some employees require further security clearance, the BPSS check is a must-have requirement and all offers of employment are conditional pending the passing of this check.

Have you made it this far?

If you’re still reading, we think there’s a strong chance you might be our kind of person.

Here’s the thing, though — research suggests that 60% of women and underrepresented people might have already talked themselves out of applying. Even if you don’t check every box above, we want to encourage you to introduce yourself.

We believe a diversity of perspectives and experiences makes a team stronger — and the stronger our team, the more successful we will be.
