Job description

Business Development Manager

Background: Green energy/EV charging/construction/facilities management

Location: Hybrid working (Office based St Albans)

Compensation: Salary + 20% bonus potential + uncapped commission

We are partnering with an eMobility partner to hire an EV Business Development Manager. You'll be instrumental in building out their commercial sales division in the UK.

This role will support their ambitious expansion plans by creating the right solutions for their clients and delivering financial growth. You'll develop business in the private sector across key sales verticals, identifying and building strong relationships to position the company as the first choice for all EV infrastructure requirements. This position is all about generating new business, so we are looking for somebody with a 'hunter' mentality who is a go-getter, excellent at generating & chasing leads, closing deals, and making sales.

What's on offer:

You will be joining a people-powered business, driven by collaboration, innovation, and accelerating the transition to clean energy. The team works hard, but your efforts won't go unnoticed. Working with an expanding business on the road to success will be both challenging and rewarding. You'll need to be agile with a can-do attitude, but in return, you'll get plenty of autonomy and learning opportunities. Plus, the chance to work flexibly; we offer a blended approach to office/home working.

What you'll be doing:

  • Grow sales of company products and services to the UK commercial sector, defining your sales strategy, identifying brand development, and sales opportunities of scale.
  • Establish and execute a pipeline of monthly and quarterly sales.
  • Build and deepen relationships with key prospects in the commercial segments, with particular focus on commercial and public sector sales.
  • Own and oversee the pre-installation process (lead/offer through to booking/contract) and ensure that all opportunities are correctly represented in Capsule (CRM).
  • Represent the company at industry and trade events generating leads, promoting our brand & services.
  • For Key Clients and major projects, working closely with the Commercial Account Co-Ordinator, lead the transition of successful projects into delivery, working closely with the Commercial, Finance, and respective project delivery teams.
  • Create opportunities through solutions for customers and present them effectively to potential clients and internal stakeholders.

What we are looking for:

  • EV experience, ideally within Hospitality & Leisure, Real Estate, Dealership, and Fleet or Facilities Management verticals.
  • Strong track record of business development that has delivered results/revenue; you'll need that hunter mentality to find and convert prospects to sales.
  • Awareness of the latest practices/technologies and market trends to convert sale leads.
  • Confident communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence.
  • First class planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, observational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrate experience of developing relationships with internal teams.
  • Incredibly organized & capable of working in a constantly changing environment.
  • Creative and imaginative, yet have a great eye for detail.
  • Curious, keen to learn and develop.
