Qualifications

  • 4 years' experience in Professional Services/Legal is desirable.
  • Skilled in client meetings, including Discovery and Opportunity spotting.
  • Polite with a calm and professional manner, and a positive outlook.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing and dynamic organisation. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to support our Legal team in Manchester.

The role is required to work with the Directors of LC Legal and their teams to find new relationships and work referral opportunities from other professionals, such as accountants. You will be the conduit between LC Legal and the rest of the LC Group to develop relationships and find internal referral opportunities

The specific duties and responsibilities will include:

  • To identify opportunities that generate income from professional networks such as accountants, and the wider Leonard Curtis group.
  • Help the LC Legal Directors manage their portfolio of professional contacts, and use relationship management techniques to understand them, their clients, and how we can build opportunities to work together.
  • Meet with Accountants / other professionals face-to-face or over Zoom, to understand the needs of their clients and identify the most appropriate solution.
  • Use your technical knowledge and excellent understanding of LC Legal solutions and services to be seen as the first point of contact to your clients and contacts. They come to you as they know you can quickly assess the situation and connect them with the right specialist.
  • Work closely with Leonard Curtis Directors and Specialists to develop and manage strategic Growth Plans, focusing on key contacts where you see an opportunity for growth.
  • Manage a pipeline of new opportunities to ensure potential clients and cases are followed up in a timely manner.
  • Attend networking events, seminars and group social events that enhance your network, and help to build the Leonard Curtis brand by sharing insights and market trends.
  • Support the organisation of Business Development events, arranging and confirming delegate attendance and ensuring effective delivery.
  • Ensure that all information relating to calls, emails and meetings is regularly recorded on the CRM system.

Skills required:

  • Degree Qualified
  • Proven performance in a BD function within the Legal profession
  • Technical experience or understanding of Law and legal advice
  • Presentation skills and the ability to engage a room
  • A developed network of professional contacts that you have gained trust and credibility with
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels
  • Self-motivation with the ability to use initiative and be proactive
  • A willingness to learn and be flexible
  • Skilled in client meetings, including Discovery and Opportunity spotting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Polite with a calm and professional manner, and a positive outlook
  • Good computer skills (including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM systems)
