In the UK, we are leading the way in avionics and communication systems. Given the nature of our work and who we are, we value trust, honesty, alignment and transparency.

Are you an experienced business development professional with a strong background in the defence and security sector? We’re looking for a driven and commercially astute Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth across International Tactical Communications and Information Systems.

In this role, you’ll own the end-to-end growth pipeline for a defined geographic region, identifying, qualifying and securing new contracts while strengthening relationships with existing programmes. You’ll work at the intersection of market intelligence, solution selling, customer engagement and partner development, helping to expand our TacCIS ecosystem and deliver long-term sustainable growth.

As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering strategic business development plans, developing new opportunities and supporting existing programmes. Success in this role will be measured through revenue growth, win rate against strategic targets and the continued expansion of channel and technology partnerships

In this role you will:

  • Conduct market, competitor and trend analysis to identify new and emerging opportunities across the defence landscape
  • Build and maintain a strategic opportunity pipeline, including identifying defence budget programmes, procurement cycles and policy shifts
  • Develop business cases and strategic plans for pursuit and capture activities, including price-to-win analysis, teaming recommendations and expansion plans
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government, OEMs, industrial partners and strategic channel partners
  • Work collaboratively with Solution Architects, Product Line Management and Engineering teams to develop value-based proposals aligned to customer mission objectives
  • Represent International TacCIS at industry conferences, trade shows, briefings and technical symposiums
  • Support thought leadership activity through white papers, case studies and briefings that demonstrate TacCIS impact on mission success
  • Lead negotiations with customers, partners and corporate stakeholders, including senior government representatives

We’re looking for someone who brings strong market awareness, commercial drive and the ability to build trusted relationships across complex stakeholder groups. You’ll be motivated by winning new business, comfortable navigating long sales cycles and able to bring people together around shared growth objectives.

You will have:

  • A degree in Business, International Relations, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • A strong understanding of the Land C5ISR market
  • Extensive experience in a defence-related industrial sector, with experience across technical, project management, marketing or business development environments.
  • A successful track record of sales in markets with long sales cycles
  • Experience in B2B sales within the defence and security sector
  • Experience of international defence sales and procurement processes across global markets.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of business development and capture management processes
  • Proposal development experience would be advantageous
  • Flexibility to work across international time zones and travel internationally when required.

This role is part of our Mission Systems International team . As such the role could be undertaken with hybrid working, with some time spent at our offices in Oakdale, South Wales and in Canada. International travel will be required as part of this role.
