Business Development Manager (Industrial & Commercial Sector)
Location: Nationwide | Salary: Up to £80k D.O.E

About the Client:
The client is a fast-growing company specializing in industrial & commercial (I&C) electricity grid new connections. With a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation, the client offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated Business Development Manager to join their dynamic team. About the Role:
As the Business Development Manager (BDM) for the I&C sector, you will play a key role in driving sales growth within the I&C electricity grid new connections market.

Reporting directly to the Business Development Director, you will be responsible for expanding the client’s presence in key sectors such as Multi-Occupancy Buildings, Retail Parks, and Logistics/fulfilment centres.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Drive sales growth in I&C ICP electricity new grid connections for the client, focusing on the designated market segments.
  2. Lead the sales process, including lead generation, prospecting, bid management, and tendering.
  3. Establish and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring exceptional customer service.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams for estimating, design, and project delivery.
  5. Consistently meet and exceed sales targets while maintaining the required profit margins.
  6. Contribute to continuous process improvements within the business development team.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Proven track record of sales success in the utilities, construction, or a related sector.
  2. Established network within the ICP or IDNO sectors with the ability to drive growth.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
  4. Experience managing the full sales cycle, including tendering and bid processes.
  5. Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven approach to achieving targets.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in business development, ideally within the utilities or construction sectors.
  2. Deep understanding of the I&C ICP electricity grid connection market.
  3. Exceptional negotiation and closing skills.
  4. Full UK driver’s license and access to a fully insured, serviced vehicle.
  5. Relevant qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
