Our client, a major lessor with a very strong brand name, is seeking an additional Business Development Manager to join their highly successful hard asset-focused sales team.
You will be focused on winning deals typically of £250,000 and above, sourced either direct or via partners (dealers, manufacturers). It is expected that around 65% of your number will be new business sourced by you, but 35% of your target will be derived from existing customers.
Our client has a broad appetite across the construction, transport, and manufacturing sectors and is receptive to niche areas that may be under-exploited by the general market. The only asset class that is not of interest is vans.
They are investors in the assets they finance, being willing to take own book residual value positions or to back these positions off as appropriate to third parties.
You will be selling at market competitive rates, which we are happy to disclose to suitably qualified applicants, and be tasked with achieving realistic targets given their average deal sizes and their willingness to put in place credit lines typically of between £2m and £20m per customer.
Candidate Profile
To apply, you should be located no further north than the latitude of Manchester and no further west than Bristol and must have a successful background in new business in the asset finance sector in the middle ticket space.
This role requires a depth of experience of a variety of finance products and of structuring larger transactions and being able to put in place credit lines to c£20m.
Therefore, it is not suitable for those whose experience is in flow small ticket hard assets; please do not apply unless you have a genuine breadth of experience of closing deals of £250,000 plus in size.
We are flexible about your background; you may work today for a tier 1 bank asset financier but seek better reward for your contribution, or for a hard asset vendor-focused lessor or a captive but be seeking a new challenge, or a major broker, or even be a mid-ticket focused lease broker but seeking to rejoin the employed sector.
Whatever your exact background, you must be a genuine new business hunter able to travel extensively to fulfil the role and be willing to spend at least two days a month working from our client's head office in South East England.
