Business Development Manager – Freight

Freight Forwarding and Logistics Industry.

Based in the Cardiff area, but candidates will be expected to be on the road.

Offering a basic salary of between £35,000 and £45,000 per year, plus car allowance, excellent commission scheme and many other great benefits.

We are working with a leading Freight and Logistics organisation who offer solutions across Sea, Air and Road freight, covering both Imports and Exports.

They are seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager to promote multimodal freight, warehousing and customs services, striving to gain new business accounts and managing key customer accounts.

The role of Business Development Manager will include:

·Driving business growth through sourcing new and profitable Sea, Air and Courier freight customers. You will also be responsible for the onboarding of new customers who have warehousing and customs requirements.

·Organising and attending customer meetings for both new and existing accounts.

·Assist Operations departments with account management, ensuring a seamless and positive experience is delivered to all customers.

·Recognise and convert prospective opportunities.

·Identifying and implementing new processes and procedures in order to improve existing customers and accounts’ experience, aiming to deliver better results and services.

·Ensure a personable and tailored approach to all clients.

·Establishing clear profit margins on all accounts and activities, maximising wherever possible.

To be considered for this vacancy, you require:

·Previous experience in a sales capacity within the freight forwarding/logistics industry is essential to this role.

·A proven track record of success in Air, Sea or Road sales.

·An excellent understanding of multimodal transport, nationally and internationally.

·The ability to build strong, lasting relationships with a variety of individuals.

·Outstanding customer service and negotiation skills.
