The Role

We’re seeking a commercially astute and proactive Business Development Manager to help expand our presence in the UK market. This autonomous position offers the flexibility to manage your own schedule and focus on driving growth.

Your Key Responsibilities

·New Business Development – Identify and convert new opportunities across target sectors aligned with our sustainable packaging offering. This includes confidently engaging prospects via cold calling, email outreach, and networking.

·Technical & Consultative Selling – Understand customer challenges and provide tailored recommendations, including guidance on packaging performance, recyclability, and regulatory compliance (e.g. EPR, Plastic Packaging Tax)

·Relationship Building – Build long-term, trusted partnerships with new customers through virtual channels and in-person meetings

·Strategic Prospecting – Use insight, research, and market intelligence to prioritise high-value leads

·CRM & Pipeline Reporting – Maintain accurate activity records and contribute to forecasting and commercial planning

·Collaborative Working – Partner with internal teams including technical, R&D, and sustainability to deliver value-driven, compliant solutions

·Industry Engagement – Represent SIVA at key trade shows or events where relevant to your sector focus

What You’ll Bring

·2–5 years’ experience in business development, sales, or account management – ideally in flexible packaging

·A working knowledge of sustainability challenges and relevant regulations such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and material compliance

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·A proactive, self-motivated approach with the confidence to drive your own pipeline

·Commercially minded with strong organisational and CRM skills

·Ability to simplify technical concepts and sell solutions based on value

·Collaborative and adaptable, with a customer-first mindset

·Understanding of flexible packaging, substrates, or material science is highly beneficial
