Job description

You will sit within our Business Development & Marketing Directorate providing support to the Finance & Projects Group. You will report directly to the Head of Group BD working with them to promote best practice advice and tactics across the Group, fostering a consultative, client focused approach to business development and marketing activities.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborating with the Group Exec leadership team to formulate and refine business development strategies, craft supporting business development plans to support the growth opportunities, develop client targeting tactics which will foster greater alignment across the FS sector and other related sectors including health, energy and transport.
  • Contributing insights and recommendations to prioritise 'hot topics' and strategic growth areas throughout the year, supporting leadership decisions with comprehensive business development plans.
  • Lead on bids and capability statements for the Finance & Projects Group, providing support in client presentations and tailoring materials to individual clients, and diligently tracking successes while soliciting feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Direct line management of a Senior BDE to support the F&P teams in their BD activities and queries and to manage F&P credentials across our content management platform.
  • Partnering with the marketing team to orchestrate strategic growth campaigns, ensuring seamless integration with business development plans and tracking return on investment to optimise outcomes.
  • Ownership and management of the business development budget, working closely with the F&P Group Commercial Finance Manager, identifying costs for planned activities, tracking return on investment and adhering to predefined budgets outlined in the business development plans.

  • Proven track record of driving successful business development initiatives within an international law firm or professional services organisation, with a specialised focus on the finance sector desired, including leading bids and pitches to secure new business opportunities.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to collaborate seamlessly across various functions, coupled with the ability to establish credibility and foster trust among partners and other stakeholders.
  • Exceptional project management skills, enabling effective management of multiple responsibilities amidst competing priorities, tight deadlines, and evolving business dynamics, with a specific emphasis on managing bids and tenders from initiation to closure.
  • Demonstrated leadership, including the ability to lead teams, delegate tasks effectively, and collaborate with specialist teams such as Communications and Marketing, particularly in the context of new to market propositions and thought leadership.
  • Strong communication skills, encompassing the confidence to engage professionally with senior leadership, colleagues, and external stakeholders, facilitating effective collaboration and fostering strong relationships.
