Overview

WasteRecruit have been retained by a leading environmental compliance organisation to recruit a UK Business Development Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a professional, technically competent and mission-driven UK team, part of a well-respected and credible global group supporting major brands meet their environmental obligations in building a more sustainable circular economy.

The business manages over 800 companies in the UK and is part of a global organisation with offices across 20 countries, having already collected over 14 million tonnes of packaging, e-waste, and batteries.

Responsibilities
  • Gather market and customer information to support effective sales and communication activities
  • Identify, approach and convert customers and partners
  • Support tender processes to convert potential leads into new customers/partners
  • Support ongoing relationship management with customers and partners
  • Undertake development projects (which may be internal or external)
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback to senior management
Qualifications
  • Proven track record in business development
  • Technically competent
  • Knowledge of UK extended producer responsibility regulations
  • Ability to present confidently and positively to customers
  • Good relationship builder
  • Organised, methodical and self-motivated

Location and travel

UK offices are in London and the Midlands. The company’s Agile Working policy anticipates a combination of office and home-based working. The position also requires travel to customers’ sites within the UK (mainly but not limited to the Midlands and South East).
