Business Development Manager (Commercial Sector)
Role Overview: The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving utilization and dependence upon our firm as the go-to place for all things Microsoft at KPMG. Acting as a trusted advisor, the BDM will support member firms in shaping strategic approaches that meet their clients' business and technology needs.
The role will focus on creating and progressing opportunities for MBS across the international market, particularly within the Commercial Sector, which includes industries such as manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, technology, logistics, energy, professional services, healthcare, hospitality, and education. Leveraging a hybrid skillset of business development, presales, technical expertise, and delivery know-how, the BDM will help position our capabilities effectively within these dynamic sectors.
Business Development
- Own the development and execution of a demand generation strategy for a key industry market to drive pipeline and sales to agreed KPIs.
- Develop the overall positioning, uniqueness, and messaging for the Microsoft offerings through KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions into that industry.
- Responsible for the generation of pipeline and execution of sales for the organization.
- Identify and develop opportunities for diversification across sub-industries, emerging technology, and service propositions to build pipeline.
- Work with KPMG teams to create integrated propositions to meet specific industry or client needs.
- Lead the interlock with the delivery organization to ensure robust contracts, support for program delivery, and development of profitable commercial constructs.
- Develop marketing and communication plans to drive pipeline in white space clients.
- Manage client relationships and commercial engagements effectively to ensure successful delivery and long-term relationships.
Business Development - Execution
- Own and cultivate senior stakeholder relationships within key strategic accounts.
- Manage relationships within the KPMG partner network to drive pipeline from the firm's client base.
- Maintain relationships with key Microsoft stakeholders to develop co-selling opportunities.
- Lead key bids and proposals for large-scale transformation programs (typically €1-4m).
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients regarding their strategic business and technology needs.
- Lead negotiations of contracts and ensure compliance with KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive experience in Microsoft solution sales.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Dynamics 365, Office 365, Azure).
- Strong industry experience in the commercial sector.
- Experience working in partnership with Microsoft on business systems or cloud-based solutions.
- Proven track record of developing profitable, long-term relationships with mid and large organizations.
- Ability to develop and lead a demand generation strategy for a Microsoft sales team.
- Led Microsoft-centric transformation deals valued over €2m.
- Experience developing solutions, consulting offerings, and assets for repeatable sales.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders in large consulting or system integrator organizations.
- Experience creating transformation propositions using Microsoft technology.
- Extensive Microsoft network at the sales level.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills.
