The role

As the Business Development Manager, with a clinical background, you will manage and drive new business opportunities and expand existing accounts within the designated sales territory, actively cultivating relationships at all levels within accounts.

This is a full-time hybrid role (minimum of 2 days in the office). The role reports to the VP of Global Accounts, who reports to the CEO.

Key responsibilities:

  • Articulate the value of SelectScience to decision makers and navigate the sales cycle effectively.
  • Use strategies including face-to-face and virtual meetings, telesales, and exhibitions, leveraging clinical knowledge to prospect and win new business.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline and accurate forecasts to drive growth.
  • Close new deals and develop existing accounts, building high-level relationships for long-term partnerships.
  • Coordinate sponsor interactions with internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Develop tailored proposals using clinical insights.
  • Achieve sales targets and provide regular forecasts and updates.
  • Keep records in SalesForce, including activities, opportunities, contacts, and contracts.
  • Identify upselling opportunities and relay market feedback internally.

Essential qualifications:

  • Proven track record of achieving targets and developing accounts.
  • Ability to manage time and travel logistics efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Experience in relationship sales and solution selling.
  • People management skills and experience with SalesForce.
  • Understanding of digital publishing and content marketing.
