Our client is a market-leading Printed Folded Carton Manufacturer in the North West, renowned for their quality and service. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join their team, working closely with the Sales Director.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new market opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding the customer base through innovative packaging solutions. The role involves approximately 50% new business generation and 50% managing existing key accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new food packaging business opportunities
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to meet sales targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and sales contracts
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, market conditions, and competitor activities
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company and its products
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction and retention

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the packaging industry
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth
  • Strong understanding of packaging materials, processes, and market dynamics
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships with clients and partners
  • Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented, with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required
