Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Business Development Manager with a background in bridge inspection engineering to spearhead growth across our inspection and asset management services. This role bridges technical expertise with strategic sales, targeting opportunities in transportation, infrastructure, and asset management sectors.

The ideal candidate combines deep industry knowledge with a commercial mindset, capable of understanding complex engineering challenges while developing client relationships and securing new contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities for bridge inspection and assessment services across public and private sectors.
  2. Develop and implement strategic business plans to grow the company's bridge inspection portfolio.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with infrastructure owners, DOTs, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders.
  4. Respond to RFQs/RFPs and lead bid development for bridge inspection and related engineering services.
  5. Attend industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings to promote the company's capabilities.
  6. Collaborate closely with internal technical teams to create tailored inspection proposals and solutions.
  7. Stay informed about infrastructure funding, regulatory changes, and industry trends.
  8. Maintain accurate sales forecasting, pipeline tracking, and CRM reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related discipline).
  2. Minimum 3 years' experience in bridge inspection, structural assessments, or infrastructure engineering.
  3. Proven track record in business development or technical sales within the infrastructure or engineering sector.
  4. Strong understanding of bridge asset management, inspection standards (e.g., BD 63/17, AASHTO, Eurocodes), and lifecycle planning.
  5. Experience working with public agencies, such as Departments of Transportation (DOTs), National Highways, or rail infrastructure operators.
  6. Familiarity with procurement processes, public tenders, and frameworks.
  7. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and travel as required.

Desirable Skills

  1. Professional Engineering (PE/CEng) license or certification in inspection techniques (e.g., NDT, rope access, UAV inspections).
  2. Knowledge of structural health monitoring (SHM), BIM for bridges, or digital inspection tools.
  3. Experience managing cross-disciplinary teams or subcontractors.
