Job Description:

We’re Hiring | Business Development Manager – Asbestos & Risk Consultancy Services
Location: UK-wide (ideally East or South of the UK)

Company: Tersus (part of Marlowe Environmental Services Group)
Salary: £50,000 + Car/Allowance + Uncapped Commission (OTE up to £85K)

Are you a commercially driven asbestos professional ready to take your experience into a strategic Business Development role? Tersus, part of the Marlowe Environmental Services Group, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help drive growth across our full portfolio of environmental risk and compliance services.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong field experience in asbestos (and ideally other risk areas like fire or water) to step into a national role with real impact—and a generous, uncapped commission structure.

Requirements

What you’ll be doing:

  • Selling Tersus services – primarily asbestos, but also fire risk and CDM consultancy
  • Opening up opportunities across Marlowe Environmental Services – including water hygiene, indoor air quality, and more
  • Developing and managing relationships with both new and existing clients
  • Identifying dormant accounts (2+ years) and revitalising them
  • Travelling UK-wide to meet clients, attend events, and join regular team meetings in South Wales and Huddersfield
  • Managing your own pipeline using CRM systems and contributing to sales strategy
  • Representing Tersus at industry events and maintaining a strong market presence

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the asbestos field – ideally as a former Surveyor, Analyst, Project Manager, Operations Manager or Account Manager
  • Tangible experience in the field and a strong understanding of technical services
  • Desirable: experience across multiple risk areas (asbestos, fire, water)
  • Familiarity with working to sales strategy and using CRM tools
  • Experience with Mark One TEAMS Asbestos Software is a plus
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage your time effectively and collaborate across teams
  • Existing client relationships and account history are highly desirable

Location & Travel:

  • Home-based role with national travel
  • Ideally based in the East or South of the UK
  • Proximity to a Tersus office is a bonus
  • Regular travel to team meetings in South Wales and Huddersfield

Benefits you’ll enjoy:

  • 23 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 days with length of service
  • 10 additional paid days leave for Reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers
  • Unlimited free access to Abi, a 24/7 Virtual GP service for expert medical advice, diagnoses, and private prescriptions
  • Life Insurance provided after 6 months of employment
  • Comprehensive Family Leave policy, covering Enhanced Maternity, Enhanced Paternity, Neonatal Leave, Dependant Leave, and Bereavement Leave
  • Employee Assistance Programme – confidential support for personal, financial, or home-related concerns
  • Pension salary sacrifice scheme with National Insurance savings
  • Accredited mental health first aiders for confidential support
  • Access to our staff benefits platform – discounts on shopping, financial wellbeing support, gym memberships, tech schemes, cycle-to-work programs, and more
  • Free mortgage advice
  • Armed Forces Support – dedicated to helping those who have served transition successfully into civilian careers
