A leading provider of compliance services in the UK is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth plans. You will analyse new service propositions, develop offerings for Local Authorities, and ensure timely tender submissions. E&J exists to deliver compliance, veterinary, and public health solutions to the food industry. We currently do this through the provision of:
We have been established for over 32 years and employ nearly 1,000 staff from over 40 countries. In 2023 we were acquired by Phenna Group and since then have been focused on accelerating our growth. Our strategy revolves around maximising market share within our existing service lines, and expanding into new offerings within animal / public health and food safety, whether organically or via acquisition.
The role:
We are now looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to support our growth plans.
Supported by the Leadership Team, the BDM will be the ‘owner’ of three main activities:
1.Analysing and validating major new service line propositions. For those taken forward, creating the business case (organic or M&A route), taking the viable projects to market and handing over to Operations
2.Developing our proposition to Local Authorities (Animal Welfare Licencing, Animal Feed Inspections, and Food Hygiene Inspections)
3.Analysing new tender opportunities, validating viable opportunities and ensuring our bid is both compelling and submitted on time.
The ideal candidate will be:
While it is not a prerequisite, experience within a public health / food business, or within a similar role within a public body would be advantageous.

Ideally, the successful candidate will be based within a commute of our Leeds office, but an element of home/office working will be considered.
