The Role

As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will be responsible for generating desirable enquiries and guiding them to successful outcomes. You will gather information to help us improve, while building and maintaining relationships with key clients within our target markets. Reporting to the Senior BDM, this role involves strategic planning, identifying new business opportunities, and collaborating with various departments to achieve company goals.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure monthly sales targets are met and exceeded where possible.
2. Collaborate with the sales support team, estimating team, and SBDM to identify and secure new sales opportunities.
3. Identify and develop self-discovered sales leads through to conclusion.
4. Build and nurture relationships with existing and potential clients to secure future opportunities.
5. Work with the sales support team to prepare and submit proposals within agreed timeframes.
6. Follow through on proposals to achieve conversions.
7. Accurately record client interactions within internal systems for reporting and sales tracking.
8. Monitor competitor activity within the designated sales territory.
9. Assist SBDM and Lead Estimator in developing new products and services.
10. Participate in regional and national sales events.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a similar role within utilities infrastructure, ideally with a background working at UIP/ICPs and/or IDNOs.

Qualifications & Training

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• GCSEs Grade 9-4 or equivalent.
