Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager within the Testing Division sales team, you will be instrumental in developing a sales strategy tailored to your industry sector. Your focus will be on driving long-term, profitable business growth by monitoring and researching the sector to identify, approach, and qualify new customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Acquisition: Lead initiatives to secure new customers by delivering presentations, engaging in negotiations, and ensuring follow-up with all necessary documentation.
• Prospecting: Actively prospect new contacts within the designated division to expand the customer base.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to identify and develop new service and product sales opportunities.
• Sales Delivery: Achieve sales targets by promoting products and services across the organization, aligning efforts with the strategic plan and adopting a solution-oriented sales approach.
• Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends and customer business drivers to inform sales strategies and identify growth opportunities.
• Relationship Building: Establish and nurture relationships with decision-makers within client organisations to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• CRM Utilisation: Proactively utilise the CRM tool to maximise sales effectiveness and track customer interactions.
• Sales Forecasting: Deliver accurate monthly sales forecasts and contribute to annual budget planning.
• Reporting: Analyse market trends and provide insights to inform strategic decisions within the business.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: Proven experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) in either sales or as an NDT Engineer.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulations within the Engineering Inspection and compliance market.
• Skills: Highly effective sales, communication, and presentation skills with a track record of delivering results.
• Prospecting: Extensive experience in prospecting and developing new business opportunities.
• Relationship Management: Excellent relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, particularly in preparing detailed proposals and utilising CRM systems.
• Customer Engagement: Experience working directly with customers in their environments.
• Sales Growth: Demonstrated success in developing sales functions and exceeding revenue retention and growth expectations.
