Business Development Manager Bristol salary £30k - £40k (It could be part-time/flexible hours offered)

A forward‑thinking architectural & consultancy practice specialising in residential, retrofit, mixed‑use, and sports & leisure projects have a fantastic opportunity!

Based on the outskirts of Bristol who pride themselves on design excellence, sustainable solutions, and strong client relationships, they are looking to support their growth and reach new clients so are looking to hire a Business Development Manager who will be involved in generating and sustaining business opportunities.

What You’ll Do
  • Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the architectural / consultancy sector, particularly in residential & retrofit work.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing clients, consultants, developers, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead networking efforts: attend events, seminars, exhibitions, and proactively engage in outreach to raise the company’s profile.
  • Collaborate with design, technical, and project teams to understand capabilities and translate them into client‑facing materials.
  • Maintain and manage the business development pipeline using CRM tools; track leads, follow up, and ensure consistent communication.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to shape strategy.
  • Provide regular reporting on business development activity, performance metrics, success rates, and opportunities for improvement.
About You
  • Proven experience in business development / client relations roles within architecture, engineering, consultancy or a related built environment sector.
  • Strong communication, networking, relationship‑building and presentation skills.
  • Proactive, ambitious, and able to work independently; comfortable juggling multiple leads / projects simultaneously.
  • Good commercial awareness, including understanding project fees, cost/value balance, and negotiation.
  • Interest in sustainability, retrofit and design innovation
