As a Business Development Manager, you will work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, where making timely and correct decisions is vital. You should remain positive and think laterally under pressure to ensure company targets are met.

You will have a good understanding of customer and service needs, be an excellent communicator and team player, possess good computer skills (Word and Excel), and have exceptional customer service skills with a strong work ethic. The role requires managing deadlines, estimating time frames, monitoring progress, anticipating problems, and collaborating with colleagues and clients both formally and informally.

You will be capable of driving profit, optimizing efficiency and quality by analyzing key drivers of business performance and identifying improvements.

Being a self-starter, commercially focused, and responsible for your own performance is essential. You should be ambitious, eager to develop your skills, and committed to continuous learning.

Scope
  • Assist in pricing for Northern Quarry Products Limited (NQPL)
  • Create customer price proposals and quotations for key projects, defining costs and resources required
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customers to understand and meet their objectives
  • Maintain market and competitor awareness to enhance Breedon’s profile
  • Support local commercial teams in securing targeted project opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a project pipeline for future opportunities
  • Prepare reports and dashboards to review sales performance, forecasts, and pipeline analysis
  • Coordinate with internal teams across the region (Technical, Distribution, Internal Sales, Transport)
  • Handle pre-qualification questionnaires and submissions
  • Manage framework tenders for public bodies, including submissions and reporting
  • Assist with online e-portals
  • Support pricing strategy development for the Scottish Materials Business
  • Review progress quarterly against major goals
