About The Role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager - TPI Public Sector Sales to join our rapidly expanding and award-winning business sales team.

This is a field-based business development role, often engaging at a senior level. The core function of the role is to expand Ecotricity's Third Party Intermediary channel for the Public Sector in line with forecasted growth. The role holder will be responsible for delivering effective account management for a portfolio of existing and new TPIs to drive new business. This includes Energy consultants, Brokers, and other intermediaries.

The Business Development Manager will work closely with our credit, finance, operational, and customer service teams to ensure our cash and debt positions are considered with every opportunity, and to manage the portfolio from a customer service perspective.

This role influences the wider B2B sales strategy, focusing on maximizing sales efficiencies and introducing new products and services to meet overall B2B plans.

This role is varied, challenging, rewarding, and requires good communication and organizational skills.

What You Will Do
  • Deliver sales targets in line with the overall B2B plan.
  • Develop and support the Public Sector TPI portfolio, supporting change within Ecotricity where required.
  • Proactively seek new framework agreements regularly.
  • Maintain ongoing compliance of framework agreements, including contract reviews.
  • Provide excellent customer service through strong relationships with partners, understanding their needs, and working with them to achieve targets.
  • Provide quotations for Gas and Power contracts from initial tender through negotiation and acceptance.
  • Support and communicate with the Team Manager Public Sector Sales frequently.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote the company brand and products.
  • Develop new ideas to expand the customer base.
  • Support the launch of new products and services, cross-selling where possible.
  • Assist back-office teams in providing aftersales support and customer care.
  • Attend off-site meetings and events as required.
  • Play an integral role in new business pitches, securing contracts, and registering new clients.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Understanding of the energy industry (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience in utilities industry advantageous.
  • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, or similar CRM tools.
  • Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
