Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established packaging manufacturer with over 50 years of success. Serving a wide range of industries including industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, engineering, retail, and FMCG, this leading packaging company is seeking a driven Business Development Manager to support continued growth and further their career.

Role: Business Development Manager - Packaging

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits Package

Location: Sheffield

Contract type: Field-based role with some time in the office. Due to sustained growth, the client is looking for a motivated individual who can generate new business opportunities while managing and developing an existing portfolio worth £1-2 million. You will be targeted to bring in an additional £250,000-£400,000 in new revenue.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify and win new business opportunities across targeted markets
  • Manage, develop, and grow an existing customer portfolio
  • Analyse market trends, growth areas, and partnership opportunities
  • Lead negotiations and follow up on commercial activity with UK customers, as well as support expansion into new territories
  • Contribute to sales budget planning, monitor revenue and margins, and help drive business performance
  • Promote the company’s image, values, and initiatives within the industry
Ideal Candidate
  • Packaging sales experience ideally in Corrugated & Timber; however other areas of the industry will be considered
  • Strong knowledge of the UK packaging market, ideally across the Midlands, Yorkshire, and Northwest regions
  • Proven ability to generate new business and build lasting customer relationships
  • A strong commercial mindset and customer-first approach
  • Technical interest in packaging products and solutions
  • A solid track record within the packaging sector in a sales/business development role
