Job description

As the Business Development Manager within AXA- Global Healthcare's Individual Sales team, you will play a vital role in driving growth by building and nurturing strong intermediary relationships. Your focus will be on supporting our existing AGH portfolio while actively identifying and developing new business opportunities in the individual market. This position underscores AGH's commitment to the intermediated individual segment, highlighting the importance of this channel in our overall growth strategy and emphasizing our dedication to providing tailored healthcare solutions to our clients worldwide.

At AXA, we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team, and our customers. You'll work part of your week away from home at our Tunbridge Wells office, visiting clients or attending industry events. This role will also require monthly travel to Europe. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you'll be doing:
  1. Identify and secure new business opportunities within the intermediary channel for the individual business line.
  2. Support and grow the existing AGH Individual portfolio through strong intermediary relationships.
  3. Develop and strengthen intermediary relationships, enhancing their understanding of the AGH proposition.
  4. Provide regular updates on service improvements and value-added initiatives to the intermediary network.
  5. Source and onboard new intermediaries to expand the individual portfolio.
  6. Collaborate with the AGH Account Management team to ensure timely renewal of existing business.
  7. Work with local partners, AXA entities, and regional teams to develop multi-tier relationships and drive growth.
  8. Manage PPA/tenders, including pitches and presentations, to secure new business and portfolio expansion.

We acknowledge and appreciate the exceptional efforts of our people in protecting what matters most to our customers. In exchange, we offer a series of core and supporting benefits designed to empower our people to thrive both professionally and personally.

We believe in hiring people who possess the appropriate skills and values that align with our vision. Our selection process is fair and equitable, ensuring that all candidates have an equal opportunity to join us. We are dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion, and we actively encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds. As an Equal Opportunities Employer, we take pride in treating our employees and potential hires with respect and without discrimination based on any Protected Characteristics.

AXA UK is recognized as a Disability Confident Leader. We actively encourage applications from people who face barriers in the workplace due to a disability or long-term health condition. We participate in the Disability Confident 'Offer of Interview' scheme, meaning a fair and proportionate number of candidates with long-term health conditions or disabilities who meet the essential criteria of a role will be offered an interview.

You'll need to show you meet the essential criteria as detailed in the job advert or job description. Your application does not need to include details of your long-term health condition or disability for consideration under this scheme. During the application process, you'll be asked if you'd like to 'opt in'. For support, a responsible Talent Acquisition contact is listed in each job advert who can connect you with our Accessibility Concierge.

Screening & Conduct: As a regulated financial services company, all successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks and must adhere to PRA's Insurance Conduct Standards and FCA's Conduct Rules.

If you experience issues connecting to your online interview, contact the person who arranged it or the Talent Acquisition contact. They will assist in starting or rescheduling your interview.

Feedback on interviews will generally be provided by phone or email as soon as possible. We will also send a candidate preparation pack before your interview.

Required skills and experience:
  • In-depth knowledge of the international health market, particularly the Intermediated Individual segment.
  • Proven business development experience with a strong track record of achieving targets.
  • Excellent relationship and account management skills, with the ability to grow existing client relationships.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working effectively independently.
  • Customer-centric approach, maintaining a focus on client needs and satisfaction.
  • Ability to collaborate across global AXA teams, negotiate effectively, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and develop new opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills, including delivering impactful presentations and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Eligibility to work in the UK is a precondition for employment.

We support our employees with a comprehensive benefits package, including a competitive salary, performance bonuses, pension scheme, life assurance, private health cover, annual leave, wellbeing resources, and employee discounts.
