Overview

MCS Group is delighted to be working with an innovative and fast-growing food distributors in Ireland, to recruit a Business Development Manager for a company in the frozen food and bakery industry. The ideal Business Development Manager will be a market leader working exclusively with premium global brands. As the first Business Development Manager in Northern Ireland, you'll be responsible for driving growth across an exciting portfolio of frozen and bakery products. This is a unique opportunity to join a passionate team with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, where work-life balance, autonomy, and integrity are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell premium, high-demand products into convenience stores, cafes and independent retailers
  • Manage and grow an existing ledger
  • Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities
  • Build long-term relationships with local clients through trust and product excellence
  • Develop in-depth product knowledge, including shelf-life and handling
  • Effectively plan and execute daily field sales activities
  • Meet KPIs and sales targets using CRM tools
  • Accurately track available stock and your own performance metrics
  • Represent the brand with passion, authenticity, and pride

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' experience in FMCG field sales, ideally within Northern Ireland
  • Strong contact base in the NI retail and foodservice sectors
  • Self-motivated, driven, and target-oriented with a hunger for sales
  • Passionate about premium food, especially bakery and frozen goods
  • Organised and structured in planning routes, leads, and follow-ups
  • Comfortable working independently without micro-management
  • Full UK driving licence
