Company Description
We’re Point North; you might also know us as County Durham Community Foundation. We rebranded and changed our name in 2024.
We’re a charity and a grant-making organisation. In simple terms, this means we raise funds through our donors – people and businesses who want a better today and a brighter tomorrow for local people. We then distribute those funds as grants to community groups, local charities and voluntary organisations.
Our mission is to fight poverty and enrich lives across County Durham, the Tees Valley and the wider North East. We take care of more than 200 funds on behalf of businesses, individuals, trusts, and public bodies, and we make grants of around £5 million each year to local communities.
We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team in County Durham. It’ll be your job to work with the Chief Executive and the wider team to help drive giving, making sure we can raise more monies through giving to be a greater force for good in our region today and tomorrow.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Business Development Manager based in Durham. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying opportunities for fundraising, developing relationships with potential donors, and collaborating with existing donors. It will require a combination of work from both the office and out on the road.
Qualifications
Most importantly though, we’re looking for someone who is interested in and cares about the communities in County Durham and Tees Valley, who cares about making a difference and understands a little about the charitable/voluntary sector in the North East.
