Job description

Business Development Manager
Location: Multi-site
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Uncapped Bonus Structure

MCS is proud to be working exclusively with a leading luxury hospitality brand as they seek to appoint a Business Development Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and ambitious sales professional to play a key role in driving growth across the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Events) and group leisure markets.

The successful candidate will focus on developing and securing new business across the Island of Ireland and Great Britain, with additional opportunities to support the group's wider international growth, particularly in North America. Working closely with the Global Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in unlocking new revenue streams across the entire property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development & Sales Delivery:

  • Proactively identify, target and convert new corporate, agency, and incentive group opportunities across Ireland and GB.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with DMCs, event agencies, corporate clients and travel trade partners in both domestic and international markets.
  • Represent the brand at trade shows, client meetings, sales missions and networking events both locally and internationally.
  • Lead and execute a proactive sales programme, including outbound activity, familiarisation trips, and lead generation initiatives to grow market share.

Sales Strategy & Reporting:

  • Support the development and delivery of the annual sales strategy with clear KPIs by market, property, and sector.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including sales activities, pipeline development and conversion reporting.
  • Provide regular sales performance reports and market insights to support forecasting and strategic decision-making.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Deliver outstanding customer experiences from initial enquiry through to contract handover.
  • Plan and host client site visits and familiarisation trips to showcase the full portfolio of venues and facilities.
  • Maximise revenue opportunities by identifying upselling potential across accommodation, spa, dining, wellness, and leisure experiences.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work cross-functionally with sales, events, marketing and revenue teams to ensure alignment on campaigns, pricing, and promotions.
  • Partner with tourism organisations to leverage market opportunities.
  • Share market feedback, trends and competitor intelligence to help inform the wider commercial strategy.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, self-motivated, and results-driven with a strong ability to develop relationships at all levels. You will be proactive and solutions-focused with excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a passion for building long-term client partnerships. You'll thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and be confident representing the brand both domestically and internationally.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in sales, business development, or a client-facing role within hospitality, tourism, or events.
  • Demonstrable success in achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Ireland and GB corporate, agency, or MICE markets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing and able to travel regularly (including overnight and international trips).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Strong IT skills with experience using CRM systems (e.g. Maestro, Monday.com) and Microsoft Office suite.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a highly respected luxury hospitality group and play a key role in their ambitious growth strategy.
