Job Overview

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving strategic growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across the healthcare, recruitment, and relocation sectors. This role is instrumental in expanding the client base, strengthening key partnerships, and maximising revenue streams through tailored solutions and long-term relationship building.

You will work closely with leadership, recruitment heads, and marketing teams to align sales strategy with company goals while ensuring excellent client engagement and service delivery.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a business development strategy focused on acquiring new NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, care homes, and international clients.
Identify and approach prospective clients through cold outreach, networking, tenders, referrals, and inbound lead conversion.
Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships with key decision-makers (HR, procurement, clinical directors).
Understand client requirements and present tailored recruitment, relocation, or workforce solutions.
Lead on the preparation of client proposals, presentations, service agreements, and pricing negotiations.
Manage and track sales pipeline activity using CRM tools, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding, delivery, and retention of new accounts.
Represent the company at conferences, industry events, and business forums to enhance brand visibility.
Maintain strong knowledge of the UK healthcare market, government frameworks, competitor activity, and industry trends.
Prepare and deliver regular performance reports to the Director/CEO on targets, KPIs, and business intelligence.

Requirements

3–5+ years of proven experience in business development, sales, or client acquisition (healthcare or recruitment sector preferred).
Strong understanding of B2B sales in a service-led environment.
Experience working with or selling into NHS Trusts, care homes, or private medical providers.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify win-win solutions.
Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
High energy, self-motivated, and target-driven mindset.
Strong reporting and analytical skills to track pipeline progress and revenue forecasts.
Ability to work cross-functionally and represent the company with professionalism and credibility.
Degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or a related field (essential).
