We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join a growing energy consultancy.

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for closing cold and warm leads. You will generate leads, negotiate, and close business contracts. You will guide businesses through the complexities of energy procurement and renewables, offering solutions that ensure cost efficiency and sustainability.

To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 3 years’ experience in B2B sales within the energy industry, be knowledgeable about energy market trends, and have exceptional negotiation skills. You should also have experience and be comfortable leading complex sales processes, and able to speak the language of high-energy-consuming clients at the C-suite level—especially in sectors like data centres, logistics, and manufacturing.

Key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:
  1. Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in the energy and renewables sector
  2. Take warm leads from prospect data and marketing intelligence—converting them into new clients
  3. Lead sales engagements across our three value areas: Supply, Generation, and Connections
  4. Manage the sales cycle from introduction to close, with full marketing and sales support
  5. Collaborate with the sales support team to shape proposals, pricing, and presentations
  6. Meet with senior decision-makers across the UK and Europe—on-site, in person, and virtually
  7. Share market intelligence and insights with internal teams to drive ongoing improvements
Skills and experience required:
  • Minimum 3 years in sales or business development within the B2B energy sector
  • Experience in selling renewables, energy procurement, or sustainability solutions
  • Proven track record in B2B sales—ideally in energy, infrastructure, or consultancy
  • Confident communicator who builds rapport, especially with C-level stakeholders
  • Commercially astute, emotionally intelligent, and professionally presented
  • Fluent in French, German, Spanish, Italian, or another major European language is a bonus
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (we use HubSpot), sales reporting, and pipeline management
  • Proactive, driven, and eager to be part of a team with serious growth ambitions
