Business Development Manager, Digital & Print

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our team. This is a hunting role focused on finding and developing new accounts for Capita Intelligent Communications (CIC).

Capita Intelligent Communications (CIC) offers a range of integrated solutions delivered in-house that enable organizations to improve how information is input, handled, archived, and communicated to stakeholders. Our solutions include digital mailroom, invoice and forms processing, transactional print, hybrid mail, print management, onsite managed print solutions, web-based repositories, storage, destruction, consultancy, and recent AI initiatives to enhance efficiency.

This is a mobile role requiring travel between clients and CIC’s production facilities. A full clean driving license and willingness to travel extensively are essential.

Job Description

What you will be doing :

  1. Bring in new business, specifically new commercial work that fits CIC’s existing outbound and inbound services, both physical and digital.
  2. Develop a growth business plan and brief the Sales Director and SLT for approval, including marketing requirements and sales strategies.
  3. Maintain an accurate pipeline of new business opportunities using Salesforce.
  4. Collaborate with Sector Leads to meet CIC’s overall targets, supporting sales with presentations, collateral, and cross-selling.
  5. Draft solution specifications and prepare quotations with support from financial, pre-sales, and operational teams.
  6. Utilize the Growth Rate Card cost model to maximize revenue.
  7. Work with pre-sales teams for scoping and business analysis to understand client requirements and draft solutions.
  8. Develop a deep understanding of client needs to identify and win new business, including presenting or demonstrating products as needed.

What we're looking for :

  • At least 3 years of experience in winning and delivering complex deals.
  • Proven success in securing new work or new logos in physical and digital communications, with deal values around £5 million+.
  • Strong relationship-building skills at all organizational levels.
  • Sales-oriented mindset.
  • Consultative and diplomatic approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
