Job description

Social network you want to login/join with:

The ideal candidate is a motivated, hands-on, organised, and proactive individual who welcomes the challenges of acquiring and developing new business opportunities. You understand how to find and identify suitable partners, build long-term partner relationships, identify business opportunities, and close business deals to reach assigned sales targets by working closely with internal teams. You have been successful at driving sales of niche brands into offline retail channels before.

Responsibilities:

Develop B2B business (including but not limited to big-box retailers, independent stores, boutique stores, distribution or wholesale opportunities) for our brands in the mom and baby categories to increase our sales through these partners. This could be done through development from our side (cold calls, emails, or known network and connections) or working with external sales agents or other resources such as online B2B marketplaces. The geographical focus will be mainly on the US.

We have 3 main mom and baby brands selling online now, and many are looking to expand into various areas of business, especially offline space for this role, including different marketplaces, retailers, wholesalers, and other sales distribution channels. You should segment potential partners’ business coverage by geographical territory, product category, buyer portfolio, sell-through channels, and determine suitability for our brands.

Understand needs from partners and match current/future brand offerings which includes but not limited to: product interests, package, margin, incentives, marketing funds, returned goods, promotional activities, payment terms, and logistics requirements. Then work internally with different functions to ensure data is provided on time and accurately, for example, working with brand managers to complete product catalogue, sales deck, pricing/margin, and with marketing and product development teams on product packaging, marketing deliverables, and with supply chain team on samples, production, logistics arrangements, etc.

Work on win-win contracts with attention to details on terms and work with internal teams for alignments and executions.

We believe in nurturing relationships, and don’t just focus on the hard sell. You’ll work on maintaining great ongoing relationships with current partners and offer everyone new opportunities to co-own and co-grow our brands and their businesses.

Requirements

5-8 years of retail/distribution/wholesale experience with a proven track record in a fast-paced environment, delivering against sales targets consistently. Experience in driving 7 figures or above sales targets is required.

Experience in B2B sales. You should understand the art of the sale, and know how to close effectively.

Preferably come with a rolodex of contacts, or be able to hustle to get the right leads.

Some experience in e-commerce would be a plus.

Knows how to drive and measure results from their business development efforts.

A start-up attitude – highly collaborative with an entrepreneurial, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, pragmatic, and able to work independently when required.

Comfortable with ambiguity, you know how to proceed or pivot accordingly. You are solutions-driven and know how to do this well and easily.

Account management or project management capabilities to manage and follow up multiple leads and projects to ensure milestones are met as scheduled.

Have difficult conversations/negotiations with little or no guidance.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
