Salary: £25,000 - £40,000 Depending on Experience + Commission (Negotiable for the right candidate to match/exceed current packages) + Benefits: Commission, package, pension, Car Allowance, Training and Development, Free Parking on Site, Marketing Support

Reporting to: Managing Director

Our client, a well-established Lighting Manufacturer and distributor with 20 years of experience, is recruiting a Business Development Manager for growth roles nationwide to maintain existing business and drive new sales.

  • Well presented, reliable, motivated, with exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with customers via phone, email, and video calls, developing relationships across key industries and sectors. Training and learning materials will be provided, with your first 6 months' commission guaranteed.
  • Sales and lighting industry experience are preferred but not essential. A keen attitude to learn and develop is important. You will work independently daily and be required to travel to client or site meetings, so flexibility around client and project demands is necessary.
Job responsibilities:
  • Creating sales opportunities through prospecting calls and emails, handling inbound leads generated from marketing, and providing feedback via our CRM system. Access to LinkedIn Sales Navigator and a lead generation tool will be provided to accelerate finding new leads and live projects.
  • Utilizing existing regional leads via our CRM to generate sales opportunities, and logging progress and projects.
  • Making outbound calls and emails to prospects to follow up on current and future projects.
  • Collaborating with colleagues for support and guidance to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinating with your sales manager for support in key meetings or tender processes.
  • Reviewing monthly sales figures with your sales manager, sharing customer feedback, market trends, and product suggestions to improve Edge Lighting’s service. Discussing support, guidance, or training needs.
  • Preparing quotations from the sales office, verifying their accuracy against project specifications before sending.
  • Understanding clients' roles, needs, project timeframes, and drivers to convert sales opportunities into orders.
