Morgan Philips is delighted to be partnering with a leading player in the retail services industry, dedicated to providing innovative and quality products and solutions to consumers. Their dynamic team thrives in a fast-paced environment where creativity and strategic thinking are key to success. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Business Development Manager, with a proven track record in the FMCG space or similar, to join their team in this brand-new role based in Hertfordshire. This role offers some flexible working with 2 days per week in the office and travel to client sites across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and develop new business opportunities within the FMCG sector to drive growth and increase market share.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  3. Increase awareness of the brand's capabilities across target sectors.
  4. Develop and close a pipeline of opportunities through cold calling, lead generation, and prospecting.
  5. Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product development teams to create and implement effective go-to-market strategies.
  6. Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients and stakeholders.
  7. Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to ensure mutual satisfaction and profitability.
  8. Monitor and report on business development metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  9. Attend industry events and networking functions to represent the company and establish valuable connections.
  10. Stay informed about industry developments and contribute to the continuous improvement of business practices and processes.

Required Skills:

  1. Proven experience in business development within the FMCG or similar industry.
  2. Strong understanding of the FMCG landscape, including market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive positioning.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  4. Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to close deals effectively.
  5. Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities.
  6. Proficiency in using CRM software and other business development tools.
  7. Strong analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating time management and organizational skills.
