Job description

An exciting opportunity has come up to work for one of the most innovative and creative glass & plastic packaging companies in the UK, primarily serving the Food & Beverage sectors, as well as wines and spirits. This role will focus mainly on the FMCG markets, initially involving new business development in the Midlands/South UK. Over time, the role will evolve into more of a sales account manager position.

£45,000 to £66,000

South/Midlands

My client offers benefits including an electric car, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life insurance (3x salary), a bonus (potential earnings of £10,000 - £12,000 on top of salary), pension, credit card, phone, and laptop.

Responsibilities
  1. This role involves both organic growth of existing business and generating new business.
  2. Target specific FMCG customers to build your portfolio.
  3. Meet with customers to ensure their expectations are met and managed effectively.
  4. Engage with new markets, growth areas, trends, and develop partnerships, including prospecting, negotiation, and commercial follow-up with UK customers and expanding into new markets.
  5. Contribute to achieving and exceeding departmental targets.
  6. Participate in developing the sales budget, monitor revenue and margins, and promote the company's image.
  7. Maintain weekly reports on customer visits, sales pipeline, and projections.
  8. Establish effective communication channels internally and externally.
Essential Requirements
  1. 3-6+ years of experience in glass or plastic packaging is preferred.
  2. Ability to set and pursue short, medium, and long-term new business targets with a strategic and consultative approach.
  3. Manage a portfolio of accounts with values ranging from £50,000 to over £250,000.
  4. Strong understanding of the UK market.
  5. Willingness to develop and expand new business opportunities.
  6. Ability to nurture existing accounts and improve gross margins.
  7. Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
  8. Interest in the technical aspects of the products.
