The OpportunityWe're seeking an ambitious
Business Development Manager to join this dynamic team and drive growth across high-value business and government sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven sales professional with 5+ years of clean energy experience to be trained and developed by industry experts while building their own territory.
You'll be targeting:- Government frameworks and public sector contracts
- Local councils and regional authorities
- Ministry of Defence (MoD) and government departments
- Large commercial and industrial clients
- Framework opportunities and tender processes
What You'll Be Doing- Hunt for new opportunities - identify and develop high-value prospects across public and private sectors
- Build strategic relationships with decision-makers in government, councils, and large organisations
- Navigate complex sales cycles including tenders, frameworks, and procurement processes
- Develop territory plans and execute targeted business development strategies
- Present compelling proposals to senior stakeholders and procurement teams
- Collaborate with technical teams to deliver tailored solar solutions
- Represent the company at industry events and government meetings
What We're Looking For- 5+ years of sales experience in solar, renewable energy, or clean technology
- Proven track record of B2B sales success, ideally including public sector experience
- Hunter mentality - you thrive on identifying new opportunities and opening doors
- Government/public sector knowledge - understanding of frameworks, tenders, and procurement processes preferred
- Strong communication skills - confident presenting to senior decision-makers
- Self-motivated and resilient - ability to manage complex, long sales cycles
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK
