Overview

We are looking for a driven and standalone Business Development Manager to look after Scotland and Northern Ireland. We hire, sell and maintain specialist plant equipment in various industrial markets and if you want uncapped earning potential, this could be for you!

Location

Home based, covering Scotland and travel to Ireland. Ideal locations include Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, or nearby areas (eg Perth, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Stirling, Broxburn, Livingston, Bathgate, Whitburn, Linlithgow, Falkirk, Cumbernauld, or anywhere in between).

Job Summary

Role: Business Development Manager, Area Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager - plant equipment, industrial machinery. You will be self-sufficient, working from home, and will use your experience in contract hire sales and/or sales of high-value capital equipment to grow your region. Initially this is a new business focused role, but you will also take over an active territory with existing customers. This is a solution sales role requiring you to swiftly convert leads into high-value sales and develop (upsell and cross-sell) existing accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Generate and follow up leads from self-generation or marketing campaigns
  • Meet with 2/3 clients per day
  • Complete site surveys to generate accurate quotations
  • Advise clients on the best solution to meet their requirements
  • Follow up on presented quotes and close sales
Requirements / Ideal Background
  • Proven track record in contract hire sales and/or sales of plant, machinery, specialist capital equipment or high-value technical solutions
  • Experience selling to the following sectors is beneficial but not mandatory: Mining/quarrying, timber, cement & concrete, steel & foundry, bulk/mineral storage and transportation hubs, power generation/EFW, building materials production, recycling facilities
  • Self-motivated with excellent planning skills and a demonstrable ability to build long-term relationships
