A leading recruitment partner is seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to cover Scotland and Northern Ireland. The ideal candidate will manage both new business development and an active customer territory, with a proven background in sales of plant and machinery. The role offers a basic salary between £40,000 - £45,000, with generous uncapped commission and additional benefits including a company car and private health insurance.
We are looking for a driven and standalone Business Development Manager to look after Scotland and Northern Ireland. We hire, sell and maintain specialist plant equipment in various industrial markets and if you want uncapped earning potential, this could be for you!
Home based, covering Scotland and travel to Ireland. Ideal locations include Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, or nearby areas (eg Perth, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Stirling, Broxburn, Livingston, Bathgate, Whitburn, Linlithgow, Falkirk, Cumbernauld, or anywhere in between).
Role: Business Development Manager, Area Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager - plant equipment, industrial machinery. You will be self-sufficient, working from home, and will use your experience in contract hire sales and/or sales of high-value capital equipment to grow your region. Initially this is a new business focused role, but you will also take over an active territory with existing customers. This is a solution sales role requiring you to swiftly convert leads into high-value sales and develop (upsell and cross-sell) existing accounts.

It is likely you will have worked in roles such as Business Development Manager, Area Sales Manager, Regional/ Territory Sales Manager, Technical Sales Manager - Plant Hire, Plant Sales, Equipment Rental, or related markets (conveyors, cement & concrete, timber, steel & foundry, bulk & minerals, energy & power, building materials, pulp & paper, quarrying & aggregates, asphalt manufacturing, power stations, grain processing, shotblasting, insulation manufacturing).
