Hello, we’re Severn Trent Services a commercial arm of the Severn Trent Group. We provide water and waste services to companies nationwide, including the MoD.
Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.
This role will suit a commercially driven Business Development Manager who wishes to accelerate new contract growth across major Facilities Management (FM) providers and direct end-user organisations. This role also combines strategic commercial ownership of an allocated FM relationship with proactive acquisition of new end-user customers across agreed target sectors.
The successful candidate will develop relationships with senior procurement, commercial and operational decisionmakers, identify new opportunities and negotiate profitable, multi-site and multi-year service contracts.
Within their allocated FM, the BDM will also act as the commercial owner of the overarching supplier framework, working in conjunction with the Sales Manager and Sales Director to manage strategic relationships, review overall contract performance, oversee commercial commitments, and secure future growth.
Previous experience in water hygiene or water treatment is not essential. The priority is proven commercial capability, strategic relationship development and an ability to win significant contracted business.
In order to be successful in this role, you’ll have a proven background in B2B new-business sales, with experience winning contracted or outsourced services. You’ll be confident developing new opportunities, engaging senior decision-makers, managing complex sales cycles and negotiating commercially successful contracts.
You’ll have strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage a healthy sales pipeline while building long-term customer relationships. You’ll also be a strong communicator and influencer, with the resilience and self-motivation to work independently and deliver new-business growth.
The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too.
We can’t wait to hear from you.
