Business Development Manager

Salary: £50-60k plus commission, company car
Location: Midlands/North England
Hours: Monday–Friday, Full-Time- some Hybrid available
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Permanent



Our market leading client is seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to focus on new business opportunities in the Midlands and Northern areas. You will ideally come from

a Metrology/Calibration background and worked in the Automotive/Aerospace sectors and have the ability to account manage and build long lasting customer relationships.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities:



  • Undertake lead generation to ensure the on-going acquisition of sales orders in line with the business strategy
  • Pursue sales order conversations as defined within the UK sales targets
  • New customer business, and continued account management
  • To promote the business to potential customers to maximise sales opportunities
  • Search new opportunities in existing and new business sectors
  • Gather market intelligence and relevant customer or competitors data
  • Support the UK sales teams with designated existing customers to identify the priorities
  • Actively take part in regular departmental briefings and sales meetings
  • Prepare and present customer quotations, proposals and tender responses as required
  • Represent at trade shows


Business Development Manager Requirements:

  • Qualified in a relevant engineering discipline to at least NVQ Level 4
  • 10 years experience within a commercial/sales business development environment
  • Demonstrable experience within a metrology or similar technical environment
  • Strong evidence of meeting sales targets
  • A drive for success, strong business sense
  • Good network of clients within aerospace/oil and gas/manufacturing industries
