THE ROLE : As a BDM within this particular division of the business, you will work to manage a portfolio of existing customers within the Aerospace, F1, Automotive and Medical Devices industry working externally with category buying and procurement teams as well as engineers and technical decision makers. Internal stakeholder engagement will include day to day interactions with design and manufacturing teams, operations, supply chain and sales. The business produces high performance precision components and tungsten alloys and have been specialists in this arena for around 40 years. Often the role is about providing technical solutions and specifications to problem solve or help with larger system designs. There is a great level of expertise in the business and you will have good support and training. You will be selling a range of specialist alloys and parts used on aeroplanes, car parts and medical equipment so this is very technical role with the need for problem solving, an inquisitive nature and someone with excellent attention to detail. Customer interactions will be a mix of teams, email, phone with some face to face meetings in the UK, US and Europe when needed. and abroad. Other responsibilities of the role involve, contract and tender management, analysis of profit and margins, building quotations, and managing a junior sales person, mentoring them in their development. They need someone with a pro-active approach to finding new potential customers as well as uncovering further opportunities within their current stakeholder network.
THE COMPANY : UK company, established 100 years ago with head office in Manchester. This is one of 3 divisions in the business. You will be the lead sales person for this brand and a key ambassador for the division. A small but close knit team in the UK with great passion and technical ability. This is a perfect role for a sales person with mechanical/aerospace engineering degree or someone used to working on design and solution based projects with customers. Great stability for employees and lots of inhouse support for new people.
We are looking for individuals who meet the following criteria:
· 5 years or more working in a technical field sales or hybrid commercial role
· Experience of selling a mechanical engineering solution to Aerospace, Automotive or Medical customers
· Ability to present technical solutions and build good internal stakeholder relationships

Our client's range of incinerators are used for a range of medical, hazardous, and general waste disposal applications and they have a history of selling them into warzones and areas of crisis through to island nations, remote healthcare facilities, and into hospitality businesses all over. This role will suit an experienced business development professional who has a track record of selling capital equipment globally, understanding the longer nature of the sales process, and is agile enough to sell to different cultures & countries worldwide.
Requirements : To be considered for the Business Development Manager role you must:
· Have a demonstrable track record in capital equipment sales globally
· A hunter mentality, a process for finding new business, and a drive to get it
· Be a natural relationship builder
· Have an understanding of sales methodologies & how to execute them
