Job description

We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead the expansion of our business in the biotechnology sectors. This role is ideal for an individual with deep industry knowledge, a strong network, and a passion for driving business growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and increasing the company’s visibility across global markets.

This is a high-impact role that requires a blend of strategic thinking, relationship-building, market expertise, and excellent communication skills. The candidate will work closely with senior leadership to align business development efforts with the company's long-term goals, increase revenue streams, and drive overall success.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development

  • Identify, engage, and cultivate new business opportunities in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, with a focus on key accounts and large-scale clients.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to increase revenue and market share, including both product and service offerings.
  • Create and maintain relationships with decision-makers in key target organizations.

Market Expansion & Lead Generation

  • Leverage market research and industry knowledge to identify new markets and business opportunities both domestically and internationally.
  • Lead efforts to prospect and qualify new leads through a variety of channels, including networking, referrals, cold outreach, and inbound marketing.
  • Expand the company’s presence in emerging markets and target geographies to drive growth.

Industry Engagement & Conference Participation

  • Attend, speak at, and network at industry conferences, seminars, and trade shows across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, staying ahead of industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Represent the company at high-profile events, presenting products, services, and case studies that demonstrate the value proposition to potential clients.

Social Media and Digital Presence

  • Oversee the creation and execution of social media strategies, including managing LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant platforms to engage with prospects and clients.
  • Regularly update and curate content that highlights the company’s products, services, and industry expertise, helping to grow the company’s online presence and attract new leads.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to align digital marketing efforts with business development strategies.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field (Biology, Life Sciences, or similar).
  • A minimum of 5+ years of proven business development experience within the biotechnology, or life sciences industry.
  • Established network of contacts within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, with the ability to generate and convert leads into long-term clients.
  • Demonstrated success in sales or business development, with a history of achieving and exceeding targets.
  • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, including trends, regulations, and market challenges.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with C-suite executives and other key stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for conferences, client meetings, and other business development activities.
